We Serve

Since its founding on May 3, 1933, the Helena Lions Club has been serving the Helena community.  Today more than 70 men and women contribute their time and efforts to service to the Helena community.

The Helena Lions Club is in District 37D

The first Lions Club was founded in 1917 in Chicago, Illinois, by Melvin Jones, a Chicago insurance man.  Mr. Jones was inspired to challenge local business clubs to look beyond their businesses and professional concerns.  He felt that these influential business men could use their talents to make an unselfish difference, considering  the welfare of others and the betterment of their own surrounding communities and the global community as well.

In 1920, Lions Clubs became an International organization, when the Lions Club of Detroit sponsored the Windsor Ontario Club.  Today, there are over 44,500 clubs in 185 countries around the world, with almost a million and a half members joined in common goals and ideals and trying to make a positive difference to people everywhere.
